fishy

My brother and sister and their lovely families were here this week. I love seeing my sibs, sibs-in-law and especially my nieces and wished they lived closer. We had family photos done while they were here and I can't wait to get them back from Neil at Vivid Photography. This is a snap we took for fun - no one fell out of the tree either.

My brother Tommy (I don't think anyone but Val and I call him Tommy anymore) brought his boat down. For those of you that don't know my little bro, he likes to kill stuff. Elk, deer, sheep, but mostly fish. Lots and lots of fish. The only pictures I have of my beautiful nieces without a dead fish are ones I take myself. He's a serious fisherman. Serious.

While he was down a whole lotta fishing went on. Unfortunately I had to work, so missed a lot of it. We popped out one night for a quick boat ride just down the road. It was a beautiful, fabulous night. There's my baby brother. See any family resemblance?

We headed out to Rocky Point. It was like glass.

See Grandma Jean on her deck? She's waving. Which reminds me...my grandparents lived on the shore of Okanogan Lake and my grandpa used to go out in his boat fishing. When lunch was ready my grandma would hang orange towels over the railing to let him know it was time to come in. But I digress.

So many jet trails in the sky. Do you ever think about hundreds of people going by overhead watching movies and drinking cocktails?

Red sky at night. Aidan caught a small Pink salmon, but he chucked it back because it was just under size. The next day he, his Uncle Tom and grandma went out to the Alberni Inlet. They were out the door at 5:00 am. Apparently it was a lovely day, but a crappy day for fishing. I wasn't there, and it would be all wrong for me to post pictures I didn't take...

(Grandma Jean took this one - don't tell). Aidan caught the only fish of the day, which was big enough for dinner. Days after this there were some 20ish pounders caught, but we were off camping by then. Yup. Camping. Wait and see.
