Tonight Katie played the part of Miss Hannigan in the Arts Alive production of Annie. She was an excellent coffee addicted mean floozy.
Really mean to poor Annie. While still being cute as pie. Really, really cute.
Many quick changes were necessary to allow her to be an orphan for the musical numbers. Lipstick on, lipstick off. High heels on, high heels off.
That's my girl! Timbits, coffee, and a housecoat. What more could a girl want? She did great, and we are really proud of her!
Jamie and I attended Dorothy's retirement party last Friday. It had a polka dot theme. Here's a picture of the decorating, because there will be no pictures of the party posted as I don't want to put any public servants in a compromising position. It was a fabulous party and a great time was had by all. I thought my speech was particularly brilliant.
Grandma Mary had a birthday last week - which meant a lovely family barbecue.
Salmon, ribs, corn, salads - it was a feast, and the sun was even shining!
Katie and Bonnie enjoyed some watermelon. Aidan enjoyed two or three of everything, but wouldn't let me take his picture.
Cousins taking a break.
I took a stroll through the garden and greenhouse and found tomatoes almost ready. I also found a bounty of raspberries that the girls cleared out.
And this great sign being ignored - I used a filter and really like the result.
The best thing about birthdays (besides the cake) are presents! Mary loves dogs - so a mug that says "Only My Dog Understands Me" seems fitting.
And now it's the long weekend! The sun is supposed to shine, Katie is off to Camp Qwanoes on Sunday and I plan to do a lot of painting. Also sister and cousins here for the week, and a trip to Port Hardy next weekend. And only a two day work week coming up!!
