sprung

So far this week there has been snow, sleet, sun, torrential downpours and windstorms. We were on our way to the mall on Sunday, and were trying to decide if we should go home due to the blizzard, when I said, in all seriousness..."It's going to clear up, look, that guy's in shorts!" It gets confusing around here, weather wise, which is all part of island living.

We had a busy week of visiting with family - Val (my sister) and Eugen and Samantha and Natalie visited at mom's for a few days, so we joined in on some of the spring break fun, indoor rock climbing, swimming and dinners. I remembered how to belay and didn't drop anyone...phew. It's amazing how our kids grow - Samantha is almost a teenager, and I remember like it was yesterday holding her as a tiny one. Val and mom and I had fun finalizing the plans for our trip to Hawaii in three weeks. We are cruising and can't wait to get on board and order our fruity drinks. We can't decide which we'll do first - the gym? bingo? hula lessons? napping? I plan to head straight for the nearest pool side bar for the first of many fruity drinks.

Some signs of spring. I am really feeling the six months that I took off photography. My eye has definitely suffered. Stay tuned for these babies in full bloom.

This tree is just down from my mom's. It's always the first to bloom. Show off.

I can't take credit for this picture. Aidan took it. I love it, but it makes me sad, because my girl plans to cut this hair off this weekend. No amount of cajoling, complimenting or bribing will convince her otherwise. Do you think it's some kind of cosmic joke that I - the owner of a head of thin, fine hair, should have a daughter with super thick gorgeous hair, and she won't let me touch it and wants it short? Mean!

Maybe after Katie sees the fabulous hair shot she will only get an inch or two off the hair. Good picture, Aidan!

Who knew that your blogging would become someone else's expectation? We're all just so nosy, though! I received similar comments - "glad you updated - I was getting sick of the same old pictures." Hmm.

I would go for napping by the pool with a fruity drink at my side.

My son has thick, lush, shiny red hair and he opts to shave it. Argh!
