a break~

bubble day, originally uploaded by rained out.

Life has gotten in the way, and I am going to take a little blog break. I will keep reading and commenting, but won't be updating for a bit.

Please drop in to see my photo progress now and then on my flickr site. I'm in day 140ish of my Project 365, so I'm posting pics there daily.

Have a great June and see you soon!

light

We are each gifted in a unique and important way. It is our privilege and our adventure to discover our own special light. ~Mary Dunbar

yesterday we hiked at pipers

Last night we went for a hike at Piper's Lagoon. I wanted to search for dilling's elusive chocolate lilies. It was the first warm, summery evening we've had. The tide was pretty high, which meant rock climbing. When it's low, we can just walk across the expanse in front of Katie.

There were wildflowers galore. Galore.

In the grasses, between the rocks, amongst the Garry Oaks. All colours and sizes.

I love these blue lupin like, lily like thingys.

Finally, climbing down through the grass, I spotted three perfect, tiny chocolate lilies. You won't see pictures, my battery was dead. I cried. I really did. By the weekend they will probably all be done. But I saw them.

Does anyone wonder why I usually only have pictures of Katie? Besides the fact that my son hates being blogged, there's this issue...

Need I say more?

today we had dinner at Mom's~

get outta my garden, originally uploaded by rained out.

So did she.

today we decided it's spring~

Today we decided it's spring. We used empirical scientific quantitative and qualitative methods to determine this~

The clematis on the deck are in bud.

We cooked hot dogs on the barbie for dinner.

Katie and I wore sandals today (note the matching nail polish).

The deck is full of bedding plants (and bags of soil and dead clippings from last year) and is on it's way to becoming part of the house again.

See? Definitely spring. Scientific, that's us.
