It has been a bit of a strange Christmas. It snowed off and on for a couple of weeks, which has been both good and bad. Bad, in that we haven't managed to do our usual socializing with family and friends. There were missed Christmas parties and family couldn't get to us on Christmas day. We missed seeing our loved ones and the change in our usual traditions. The good was the sense of coziness and warm and the guilt-free enforced laziness and relaxation. Next year I want to try to combine the time with family and friends with the luxury of taking the time to enjoy the season.

We all received so many gifts. At some point soon I'll take you on a photo tour of the "basket" my mom fills for me every year. I also received a Lensbaby from Mary. I'm just learning how to use it, but here is a picture from my mom's tree that I took using it...mom's tree is all snowflakes.

Tomorrow it's back to work. No more snow on the roads to keep me home. Sigh.

Getting the Christmas balance right is crucial. Some years we lock ourselves away from everyone and I refuse to feel guilty.
What's a Lensbaby? Something to do with macro photography?
I locked myself away this past weekend. We were supposed to go to our cabin, but we stayed home and didn't tell anyone!
Hey! Great to see you back in blogville. We've been snowed in, too. It kinda shut down the business, forcing us to take a rare break. Looking forward to getting around a little easier though...
I have truly enjoyed the guilt-free laziness this crazy weather has wrought! (Wreaked?)
