Tomorrow night Aidan is going to sleep over at a friends. Outside, in a tent, with no parents (although his friend's mom intends to sleep right inside the screen door). He's totally excited. I'm excited for him on the outside and FREAKING on the inside. Parenting is hard.

Aiden will be fine. I'm sure a couple of boys could make enough noise if a neighbourhood cat poked his head in the tent to have mom come running! Speaking from experience here. Hey, I didn't know cats' eyes glowed in the dark when I was a kid!

I distinctly remember the first time I watched my daughter cross the street (in front of our house) by herself. I wanted to run after her.
